Announcing the LA Poker Roundup: Player of the Year!

The LA Poker Roundup continues our annual Player of the Year race for the 2025-2026 Los Angeles tournament poker season! We will be tracking the results from select events in the LA area starting with the Legends of Poker series at the Parkwest Bicycle Casino and ending with the Commerce Series in May of 2026 to crown LA’s #1 Blaster with the Player of the Year honor.

IMPORTANT: We will be making a tweak to our POY point system this year regarding chops. Similar to the MSPT Poker system, when an event is chopped, the players who are chopping will all be awarded the point value for the last place at the time of the chop.

System:

To track this, we’ll be using the Zimmerle-TomSki point system for our POY points. For an idea of how many points an event will get, you can use the point calculator provided by Tom Sanduski at http://zamzone.com/wsop-2020/poy/. For this season, we’ll only be including Hold ‘em events because the process of keeping track is labor intensive. Once a venue releases their series schedule, we will announce which events count here on the show and on our website and Twitter. For an event to be counted, the full results must be reported to Hendon Mob. Quantums from the Bicycle will not be included because their structure is more complex and doesn’t fit the point system.

Unfortunately, this year the only prize we will be promising is bragging rights. However, in future years we hope to grow the POY into an exciting event for the LA community. Hopefully we can do something like hold an invitational or have other prizes awarded and become the premier title in SoCal poker!
